Hello, My name is Jim Smakal. Our family visited the Twin Lakes area for several years before my wife, Sandy, and I packed up our three children in 1985, purchased the Waterfront Resort in Lakeview, and moved here from Medinah, IL.
Why? The climate was attractive, the friendly folks, unlimited natural beauty and recreational opportunities, great schools and medical facilities. What a great place to live and raise our children! Like us, many of our guests at the Waterfront, which we still own and operate, liked the area so much that they, too, wanted to move here.
So in 1990, I joined the Beaman Realty team to help our guests, and others, to realize their dream of relocating to our area. I enjoy working with people and have been successful in helping them to find the perfect home to raise their family, purchase a business, or enjoy retirement.
I am a Life Member in the Arkansas Realtor’s Association Million Dollar Club. My experience includes residential property, acreage, lots and businesses, specializing in resorts. I am a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, recently retired firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician with our local Grover Township Fire Department for 24 years. . I am active in many community projects, events, and volunteer groups. I am currently serving on the Bull Shoals Lake/White River Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 12 years and have been a member for 27 years.
In my quiet time, I put up the “Gone Fishing” sign and get out on the lake for some fishing action. Our favorite pastime is inviting friends to join us on our houseboat cruising Bull Shoals Lake and riding our wave runners. We’re happy to be here and have only one regret…that we didn’t make the move sooner!
